Why in the world can I not get an interview??? What's wrong with me? My resume? My reputation? My employment history?
I hear about other people applying for jobs and getting a chance to interview all the dammm time and yet, can I get in ANYWHERE for an interview???!!! No! Why?
I decided to try to go back to social work for the developmentally disabled population. It's a job I was good at and felt some sense of fulfillment in so I figured, why not? The pay is not great but it's a job that I'm really good at and the benefits are great. Plus, I know people in the field, even the MANAGER for the position at the local CCB (agency that does social work for the DD population). I called him on Monday and told him I was pregnant (again) and was interested in the job and asked if I'd be wasting his/my time to apply. He said 'NO WAY' and encouraged me to apply that very same day because interviews were Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
I don't hear back...
I e-mailed him today, asking if all my paperwork was submitted alright since I hadn't heard and he said that "due to the applications received" I was not being considered for the position at this time. Seriously??? I e-mailed him back asking what they had that I was lacking but haven't heard back yet.
I just don't understand. I'm really good at this job. I'm really good at ANY job, pretty much, and NO ONE will give me a chance!!!
Sorry for the vent. I'm getting tired of this... it's been over a year for goodness' sake!
